Tracking The Subject (film/dir. Aïlien Reyns, TRIPOT) + TTS Additionals (contributed to Archive.org) -- Screen shots of the panaramic images, unwrapped "Tracking the Subject is a research-based audiovisual installation and text publication that aims to create a subjective counter narrative on the subject of the so called “European migrant crisis”. Current political and media discourses consist mainly of anecdotal facts, statistical data and constructed threats which at once victimize and alienate the refugee. Both perspectives result in a dehumanization of the depicted subject. This work enables the spectator to experience the undocumented ‘illegal’ transit-zone that exists between the origin of the migrant and the “Fortress Europe”. http://tracking-the-subject.org -- The additional recordings contributed to Archive.org are an assortment of those that were captured on location but not used in the final work, as well as two recordings made during the progress of installing the work (and aspects of the soundtrack) inside the Black Box, for it's opening at CubaCultur in Münster, for 06-01-17. |
