A World of Consequences Deferred Too Long (film/dir. Lene Vollhardt)

"For her solo exhibition non (available bodies), Lene Vollhardt invited a group of participants consisting of bodyworkers and sex workers, some are dancers and NGO-founders, to examine the female body as a contested space for self-control, permeability, and social structures through a focus of the relation between architecture and the body, especially in its aspects of power.

In the installation “A World of Consequences Deferred Too Long” the chosen performers are directed by Vollhardt through methodologies of systemic constellation in a sort of psychastenic challenge; at certain points they submit themselves to embody complex terminologies given by the artist, but also will suddenly change into being just one among others, when not able anymore to hold the embodiment and so being dispossessed of its privilege, literally no longer knowing where to position themselves. This creates a space - defined by movement - where bodies will communicate from their unconscious memory about value and validation.

Whilst watching the presented dynamics, one main question can be kept in mind: How and when does protection appear, as well as its fluid transmutation into a tension field of repression, care, resistance, and attack?"
